The educational system is one of the most important institutions in the country as it supplies organizations with capable manpower to ultimately foster development and growth in a country. With increased multiple insecurity challenges in educational institutions threatening the lives of staff and students, it is necessary to seek solutions to reduce these challenges.
The University of Nigeria Nsukka has put its best foot forward to tackle the insecurity challenges. Crestsage Limited was contracted to design, implement, and commission an intelligent video surveillance system to solve the security challenges in the university.
The intelligent video surveillance system exploits the use of artificial intelligence to recognize potential security threats and give informed analytical insights that can be used to reduce the insecurity of lives and properties in the university about the security situation of the environment. it features a Monitoring Display Unit that displays Video feeds of all cameras, records video feeds for documentation purposes, embedded Infrared technology cameras for effective Night Vision Coverage cameras, and Intelligent Video analysis
The areas covered by the IVS systems in the University of Nigeria Nsukka are Sullivan Gate, Main Gate 1, Zik Flat-gate, Library, and VC Lodge. the project covered the important areas in both campuses improving security surveillance in the University.
